Starting point of the tour is a parking lot in the middle of Nothweiler. Since large parts of the connector that is run in Alsace no purely Palatine hike. The section up to the ruins of Fleckenstein mostly runs on very nice trails through the forest. Within this connector are all sights, the visit worthwhile. While the way up to the Wegelnburg steadily rising, the section between Wegelnburg, High Castle and Lowenstein runs apart from a few small climbs and descents relative flat. Almost all castles permitted on the highest point of a very nice view over the Palatinate forest or forest areas in Alsace. The tour of the castle ruin Fleckenstein is not free, the ticket can be purchased from the forester's house Felckenstein - in the winter months, but it is closed. Those who want to strengthen somewhat during the tour can do this either on the Gimbelhof or finally in Nothweiler. The section from Gimbelhof back to Nothweiler is more of a walk in the fact that there are no significant climbs.
