Ash from coal will help clean the oil spill
Leak explosion of BP well in the Gulf of Mexico is finally stopped. However swim in the sea millions of barrels chapped of crude oil, which is poisoning the ecosystem and must be cleaned. So how can mankind deal with it?
Ideas are not lacking - experts and laymen offer all sorts of solutions but a researcher from the University of Central Florida has developed a way to use waste material chapped from electric power plants burning coal to absorb oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
It is a waste material known as fly ash, which is residue from burning coal. Soaked with oil, this fly ash can be screenings of water and piled in packs of cheap packaging material and then transported to the coal power plant and used to generate chapped energy.
Seal teamed up with colleague - an expert in ceramic chapped materials in order to further develop the technology of fly ash, so that it can prepare the implementation process and be able to license the technology to commercial partners.
A completely separate team of researchers did recently developed a new material that can turn liquid oil floating on the surface of the water in solid blocks that can be easily collected chapped and transported. chapped
